This root grater was purchased in the Coushatta community by M.R. Harrington as he traveled through the area to learn more about the Coushatta culture. Harington purchased the grater from Mr. and Mrs. Paul Williams for $0.65. Harrington pheontically spelt out the Koasati word for the root grater as "tco-se-sa-ga-gi".
