This object is a wooden triangular shape with a long strand of twisted Spanish Moss still attached. The twister was purchased by M.R. Harrington in 1908 for $0.25 when Harrington traveled through the region to learn abou the Coushatta culture. Harrington wrote down the phoenetic spelling of the Koasati word as "spa-nai-ka".
